Finance Manager - The Constellation Trust

Salary Range: Grade 10 NJC Points 34-37 £38,553 - £41,591 (this could be reviewed for exceptional candidates)
Closing Date: Friday 21st April 2022, 12.00 Noon
Hours: Full Time, 37 hours a week over 52 weeks a year
Start Date: ASAP

The Finance Manager will work as part of the central finance team, led by the Director of Finance & Business, to deliver an expert service to our schools. We are looking for an exceptional individual to provide high level operational support and expertise to the Director of Finance & Business in relation to school budgets, as well as undertake direct line management of the trust finance team. In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to provide ad-hoc support when needed by the Director of Finance & Business, and will oversee tasks including:

  • Managing the delivery of the monthly management reports
  • Overseeing transactional processing within the academies
  • Preparing for and being the lead contact for Internal Scrutiny visits and the year end Auditors
  • Liaising with school-based colleagues as required
  • Acting as Line Manager for the central trust finance team, and oversee their CPD and general development at the Trust
  • Act as the senior finance contact and main support for the admin and business managers in the Trust
  • Alongside the Director of Finance & Business, help prepare and feed into the annual budget setting process

What we are looking for

  • A finance person, who as a minimum, is AAT Qualified with significant relevant experience
  • Someone who is looking to progress further, in both skills and qualifications (fully funded)
  • Leadership and development of staff experience
  • Experience of producing management accounts and monthly reports using financial systems
  • Ideally experience of working within the education, public or charity sector
  • Experience of producing regular forecasts
